Texas State University

Elizabeth Bustamante was born and raised in Center Point Texas; an unincorporated, small- town. She was raised in a Spanish-speaking household and attended high school at a primarily white institution. Elizabeth realized at an early age that knowledge was power and its vitalness to her ability to, not just for her future endeavors and stability, but also for her family. Her childhood taught her many things that she is grateful for, but most importantly that we, specifically marginalized groups of people, experience an unjust number of disparities. That we may encounter due to our: ethnicity, gender, race, religion, or socioeconomic position. Elizabeth is interested in our criminal justice system and a Ph.D. or master's in criminal justice.
