AAHHE Announces Appointment of 2021 Chair and Chair-elect, Eight new BOD Members and Sixteen New Standing Committee Members.

The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) is beginning its seventeenth year as the premier national association representing Latinx faculty, administrators, and graduate students in higher education. AAHHE is proud to announce the appointments of:
- Dr. Victor B. Saénz as Chair of the Board of Directors and Dr. Patrick Valdez as Chair-elect for the year 2021-2022.

Eight new members to the Board of Directors. Six new Directors were appointed for three-year terms (2021-2024): Drs. Edna Acosta-Belén, Edward Delgado-Romero, Gloria P. Martínez-Ramos, Cristobal Rodriguez, James Rodriguez and Julian Vasquez Heilig. Dr. Claudia Garcia-Louis and Monique Posadas, MA were elected by the membership as Faculty Member at Large and Graduate Student Member at Large, respectively for a two year term. The addition of members to the Board of Directors brings the total number of AAHHE Board members to eighteen. Collectively, the new Directors bring deep experience and understanding of educational leadership, policy, community engagement, diversity, Latinx studies, and social sciences.
- Sixteen association members to Standing Committees, including Finance & Audit, Governance, Membership, Marketing & Public Relations and Programs Committees for the term 2021-2023.
AAHHE Announces Lucia Gutierrez, PhD as AAHHE Executive Director
October 1, 2020 The AAHHE Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Lucia Gutiérrez to the position of Executive Director. Dr. Gutiérrez joined AAHHE in September 2020 through AAHHE’s new business relationship with AMC Source, an association management company based in Fort Lauderdale. She will be managing day-to-day operations for the association. Read more....
