Neda Ramírez, a scholar and researcher, focuses on dual language education across the P20 educational spectrum as well as issues affecting Hispanic-Serving Institutions in higher education. Neda currently lives in Edinburg, Texas. She is a product of Texas public schools and graduated from Edinburg North High School. During her undergraduate studies, Neda studied at five different colleges and universities in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Austin, Texas, and finally graduated from UTPA in Edinburg, Texas with a degree in English and a minor in Communication. After her graduation from UTPA, Neda worked briefly in business before becoming a bilingual teacher in Donna, Texas and later in McAllen, Texas. During this time, she earned her master’s degree in bilingual and bicultural studies from UTPA. Neda also studied and worked at UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. In 2017, Neda began doctoral studies in educational leadership in Edinburg at the newly formed UTRGV where she continues as a doctoral candidate with a 3.95 GPA. Her dissertation study will investigate stakeholder perceptions of student success at a Texas HSI. Neda plans to graduate in May 2022 at which time she will enter the field as a practitioner or researcher.
